Our Programs

At Passionate Heart Ministries, we are dedicated to empowering families, equipping youth, and meeting the needs of underserved communities through a variety of Christ-centered programs and services:Helping Hearts – Food Distribution & Family SupportMeeting physical needs is a vital part of our mission. Through our Helping Hearts program, we provide groceries, fresh produce, and essential supplies to families in underprivileged communities. Our food distribution efforts help ease the burden of food insecurity and open doors for deeper connection and hope.Expectant Mothers, Parenting Teens & Young Parents ProgramOur Expectant Mothers, Parenting Teens & Young Parents Program provides compassionate, Christ-centered support for young families navigating pregnancy and early parenthood. Through this initiative, we offer mental health resources, educational support in nutrition and parenting, childbirth education classes, and essential baby items such as car seats, strollers, diapers, wipes, and clothing.We also host baby showers and community-building events to celebrate and uplift young parents during this important season of life. All services are completely free, ensuring that every family—regardless of circumstance—has access to the tools, care, and encouragement they need to thrive.Free Tutoring & Academic SupportEducation is a powerful tool for transformation. Our free tutoring program offers one-on-one and group academic support to children and teens, helping them build confidence, improve performance, and reach their full potential. We also provide mentorship and guidance for parents to help create supportive learning environments at home.Sports & WellnessWe believe that strong bodies and strong minds work together. This program builds teamwork, discipline, and healthy habits through faith-based athletics, fitness initiatives, and recreational activities designed to strengthen both physical and spiritual well-being.Community Events & OutreachThrough seasonal events, prayer gatherings, back-to-school drives, and community service projects, we connect neighbors, build relationships, and meet real needs — creating spaces where love, hope, and faith are shared in tangible ways.

The Passionate Heart Ministries Board of Directors is a dedicated team of leaders who share a deep commitment to strengthening families, empowering youth, and building Christ-centered communities. Together, they bring diverse expertise and a shared heart for service, guiding the vision and mission of the organization with wisdom and grace.

Tamisha (Mimi) Major, M.S. – Board ChairTamisha serves as the Board Chair of Passionate Heart Ministries, where she leads with vision, collaboration, and a passion for community transformation. With extensive experience as a Project Manager at Center for Change, Inc., she is committed to advancing initiatives that strengthen families and create opportunities for growth.Geannina Hiraldo – Board TreasurerGeannina brings her financial expertise and heart for service to her role as Treasurer. As Branch Manager at Self-Help Credit Union, she is passionate about financial empowerment and stewardship. Her leadership ensures that every resource entrusted to the ministry is used wisely to further its mission.Joanne Celestin, ARNP – Board SecretaryJoanne faithfully serves as Board Secretary, combining her healthcare background with a deep commitment to community wellness. As an Emergency Medicine provider at Paramount Urgent Care, she advocates for holistic care and brings a compassionate, service-oriented perspective to the ministry’s leadership.Ferren Harrell, MSN, RN – Board MemberFerren is a dedicated healthcare professional and International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant with a passion for supporting mothers and families. She brings years of nursing experience and community outreach expertise, helping Passionate Heart Ministries expand its impact in family health and wellness.Dr. Lauren Josephs, PhD, LMHC, NCC – Board MemberDr. Josephs is a respected researcher, licensed counselor, and the Chief Operating Officer of Visionary Vanguard Group. With a strong background in behavioral science and leadership development, she is committed to empowering families and equipping future leaders through Christ-centered strategies.Griselda Payne – Board MemberGriselda is a passionate advocate for underserved communities and serves as a Community Health Worker with the Farmworkers Association. Her dedication to outreach and family support strengthens the ministry’s mission to serve with compassion and inclusivity.
